My friend is learning C, so I'm planning to learn both C and Python at the same time.
At da same time? Whoa
Good luck with the game. Do ya got any unique game concepts yet?
Sounds hard but good luck i will play when it's out
Well... I'm going to try to make a really good, deep story.
And I'm thinking of several ways I could implement the battle system, but basically, I'm going to have J to use left hand, L to use right hand, and WASD for movement. I haven't really made a final decision on anything else though.
Sounds good. Stories make me a happy person.
Left hand / Right hand sounds cool too, a lot like Space Station 13 (see the wiki, all actions must be done with a hand, but can't be done if your hand is full).
Also, a note with wasd keys, you might want to make it remappable. Some people have dvorak keyboards
Wow, that's a Dvorak keyboard? I don't remember it being that strange.
And re-mapping? More coding... *groans*
Or you could just say Dvorak users press <aqe for movement, h for left hand n for right hand.
Yeah, that works too.
Also, you can just ignore their angered cries.
How is your project coming?
spam and wpw never seen a dvorak keyboard before
It's a great website for some great games for free. Good luck.
The game is going good, I think I'm getting the hang of this programming lark.
3 months later... *sees Python* "OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Great! The first time I'm thanked!
So, does that mean progress is going steadily.
Yeah, it is, though I am taking some breaks sometimes.
I never got the hang of Game Maker myself, i was RPG Maker XP etc, but I hope your project goes well!
I'll look forward to playing it?
How is the project coming along awesomedrako?
Thanks to coursework, I have only managed to make the main character capable of moving at my command, and the art for a very basic monster.
youre great do u have background in software design?
You mean whether I work in software design or whatever?
The answer is no, unfortunately. As you can see from my profile, I'm just an average student. I like games, and decided to learn programming. I already know how to compose music, and draw art, because those are also my interests, so I decided to put it all together to try to make something that I have a passion in. I'm a hobbyist if you will. However, I'm really new to programming, and the most I've done so far is GML with Game Maker .
well i know ur a student but i thought you are working like an internship program. But anyway great skills u have.
