    Meh, Minecraft deserves the win anyway. You have to factor in that WoW has had years, with thousands of developers, and millions of dollars, and now an indie game is able to challenge them within a few months while its still in beta. Quite amazing when you think about it.

    If you think Minecraft is the better game then explain this:

    Why does WoW have 6 times the more user base than Minecraft when WoW costs alot more $$$ to play and requires a faster computer?

    WoW also loses alot of its users over time because it costs alot to play while Minecraft measures the amount of players through the number of copies sold. This means Minecraft can never lose its players even if those people decide to quit Minecraft. So the true number of people playing Minecraft would most likely be alot less than what most people may think.


    Imagine if Minecraft costed as much as WoW to play. I wonder how many people would still be playing Minecraft...

    Now imagine if WoW costed only $20 for lifetime membership. I wonder how many more people will be playing WoW.

    WoW has 100 times or more marketing than Minecraft, an indie game that has caught on by word of mouth. Minecraft can not charge as much as WoW because it is just starting.

    WoW would not have any server space if it only cost $20 or less forever.

    I'd like to see how popular Minecraft would remain if subscription fees are charged.

    WoW has alot of competition. There are literally hundreds of MMORPGs WoW has to compete with, yet its user base is growing despite costing so much $$$ to play. Also it doesn't make any sense to say Minecraft cannot charge as much because it is just starting. WoW charged just as much as it did when it first started.

    Minecraft has no competitors yet. It has the entire sandbox genre market to itself. Once alternatives start appearing, its popularity will decline.
