Comment: AVA is great for a free FPS but is no match for the overall quality of BC2.

Comment: BC2 and AVA are close in gameplay. AVA is free to download, but BC2 has more features.

Comment: Alliance of Valiant Arms is one of my favourite games. There aren't really that many free FPSs out there that are good, and of those, not all that many are 'amazing'. However, AVA is a free FPS that comes closer to 'amazing'. As usual, as a free FPS, it doesn't stand a chance against BC2, and if you had to choose, you'd choose BC2 straight off, ignoring the price. However, I will give AVA some credit here, because it is free, and it is good.

AVA is a fun game with a class system, and several slightly innovative game modes. Both these add tactics to the system, and overall, AVA is built around tactics and such. AVA also has a radio system where you can press a button to choose from a list of things to say. These help encourage teamwork, but not enough.

Bad Company 2 has spotting, which is basically the binoculars of AVA, except you can do them whenever you want, with no time delay in between, and anyone can do it. This encourages at least one person to use this feature, and benefit the whole team. For those not in the know, spotting will mark an enemy you see on everyone's screen, and you'll be able to see them wherever they are, even behind a wall for a period of time. AVA's binoculars are similar, except only the leader can use them, and there is a time delay between each use.

AVA does however, get almost everything fundamental to a good FPS down. It's got the balanced class system that allows more tactical play while giving the game more life (so you can play other classes if you get bored). It's got a wide range of weapons each with their own advantages and disadvantages. It's even got the usual game modes, with some more innovative touches (like dog tags in Deathmatch), as well as some new ones (like Escort or the co-op missions).

AVA does a lot right, but BC2 does a lot right, and a bit more.

Comment: Both games are awesome so this is a hard choice. I voted for BC2 but either winning would be fine with me:p.
