By now, most people are aware that Microsoft has ended support for Windows 7 after 10 years of service. Of course, there are people who still have PCs that are at least half that old who still game and have no desire – or ability – to upgrade to Windows 10. So, what games can you still play on Windows 7? Click on www.onlinecasinoza.co.za to discover some SA gambling & casinos sites

The list is larger than you think, so keep reading for some ideas that will keep your older PC gaming habits going.

World of Warcraft still runs in Windows 7 because Blizzard Entertainment, developer of WoW, likes to have its massively popular MMO run on almost everything. In 2019, Microsoft added the DirectX 12 runtime to Windows 7 and WoW was one of the first games to implement it.

Counterstrike: Global Offensive from Valve is another popular example, it’s a long-running team and solo death match shooter with a giant worldwide community.

ARK: Survival Evolved from Studio Wildcard is an action-adventure survival that gives players the chance to build a life amid dinosaurs and other dangers. Rust is another good choice; it is another action wilderness survival game based originally on DayZ from Bohemia Interactive (which also runs on Windows 7).

Hearthstone from Blizzard, a digital collectable card game that can be played with thousands of people with amazing graphics and fun mechanics. Other card games include Chronicle: RuneScape Legends from Jagex and Slay the Spire from Mega Crit Games.

Diablo II and Diablo III from Blizzard, an isometric action RPG with a long-lived and venerable background. Other isometric RPGs for Windows 7 include Torchlight II from Runic Games and Path of Exile from Grinding Gear Games.

League of Legends from Riot Games is a wildly popular massive online battle arena game and esports giant, and it runs very well on Windows 7. Similarly, the MOBA from Valve Dota 2 will also run on those PCs.

With more games implanting DirectX 12 for Windows 7, there will be even more high-fidelity titles in 2020, but this should keep readers going until then. Most of these games also require at least Service Pack 1, so make sure Windows 7 is fully updated, and good gaming!

  1. Operating systems isn’t everything in my opinion; sure you might have exclusive games available for a specific OS, but having an older operating system doesn’t necessarily equate to having older hardware. I think Windows 7 can run even today’s most powerful games, and it really depends on hardware like processors, graphics cards, drivers, etc. rather than the OS. If you have a PC build, you can easily upgrade parts. And furthermore, there’s usually a huge performance increase when you turn off Aero theme and switch to a Windows Classic theme, which is something to consider if you do experience lag or other problems with newer games.

And I personally think Windows 10 is full of unnecessary bloat; like you really don’t need Cortana, OneDrive, or any of the other preinstalled software on Windows 10, especially if you truly want to have a “gaming PC”. It’s just extra software that eats up performance with no good benefit while you’re gaming and usually just runs in the background during startup. It used to be great, when you actually had more control over customization.
