SnowyAE commented on the post, Top Expected Games Of 2022 10 months ago
For me, my most anticipated game for 2022 is a Breath of the Wild sequel. Nintendo’s been killing these last couple of years with amazing games, from Animal Crossing: New Horizons to Metroid: Dread, and I think the trend will continue strongly.

DuckDuckGo is great as a search engine, but not so much as a browser. I personally prefer Brave as an alternative. The other apps seem kind of cool though, especially Adobe Lightroom for quick touch-ups on photos.

Looks like the days of RPGs is over. In my opinion, there aren’t really that many sandbox games to justify it being a “top genre” especially when compared with the hundreds of thousands of RPGs out there.

Social gaming events in my opinion are the best place, especially gaming clubs, because you can get an actual interaction and it’s less anonymous. Discord is also kind of a popular place.

I really enjoyed Metroid Dread, since it’s been more than a decade since there’s really been a “good” Metroid game. Definitely a game that deserved to be on the top spot.

SnowyAE commented on the post, Can Blizzard Get on Top Once More? 11 months, 4 weeks ago
I think Blizzard will just go downhill since they really haven’t had a good time with any of the events happening. Their last major success was Overwatch. But then there was Diablo Immortal which was heavily criticized, the Blitzchung eSports controvery in 2019, and then workplace scandal where some of their employees are quitting and working for…[Read more]

Seems interesting, both the video games inspired by the sport and the sport itself. Kind of interesting that such a sport dates back to the 13th century.

I’m not really into the whole NFT trend. It’s definitely popular, but I haven’t really seen much benefit in it.

SnowyAE commented on the post, How To Use Your Gaming Skills For Online Games 11 months, 4 weeks ago
Definitely practice since that encompasses all sorts of online games, but don’t just practice. Practicing the wrong technique can become a habit that’s hard to change and adapt to, so it’s important to practice with the right technique and keep improving.

SnowyAE commented on the post, The Evolution in Game Technology 11 months, 4 weeks ago
Pretty good advances in gaming technology, some going as far back as a decade or even two decades ago. I think Nintendo’s created the eCard reader to scan the barcode of an eCard which was kind of the earliest form of “DLC” which unlocked bonus content in some Game Boy Advance games. And there’s also the Amiibo which I think actually uses NFC…[Read more]

Not just desktop computers and mobile devices, but esports’ popularity even extends to consoles. Super Smash Bros. comes to mind, when I think of esports for any video game console.

SnowyAE commented on the post, How To Become A Successful Game Streamer 11 months, 4 weeks ago
Having good equipment definitely does help build a better audience, because the audience can see that you’ve put effort to making the stream presentable. However, I’ve seen streamers that started out their streaming career with decent equipment, and grew over time and improving their stream quality, so it’s not impossible to be a successful…[Read more]

I’ve definitely heard of The Oregon Trail before since it’s an old but classic game, but never realized there was an anniversary edition as late as the 2010s. The games were pretty fun.

I’m quite surprised Roblox is as popular as it is today. I mean the game started out in 2006, and for a game that old, you’d think there’d be less active users, but Roblox is picking up over a 100 million active users a month which is crazy.

SnowyAE commented on the post, Can a $800 Gaming Laptop Run Apex Legends at 144 FPS? 12 months ago
I’m sure it’s possible to find budget gaming laptops that can run games with really high FPS, but they’re usually hard to find or sold out. And sometimes it’s better to wait until Black Friday when some of the great gaming laptops are at a great price anyway.

SnowyAE commented on the post, What Is the Best Place to Play Games? 12 months ago
Yeah, having the same device (or system) makes sense for certain games. It’s kind of unfortunate that I can’t play Minecraft (Java Edition – PC) with friends that play Minecraft (Bedrock Edition – console).

SnowyAE commented on the post, Three Tips on How to Stay Safe Online While Playing CS:GO 12 months ago
Definitely good tips, though I think security for a game like CS:GO may be a bit “too secure” unless you’re some popular video game streamer (or potential target). Usually security isn’t on my radar when I’m playing games.

SnowyAE commented on the post, A Short History of the CS: GO Team Na’Vi 1 year, 1 month ago
Seems like a nice history, and I think it’s clever that they incorporated a Latin phrase into their team name, in fact, fittingly since they really were born to win.

One in six is actually pretty high, and probably should be concerning to the point that there ought to be certain restrictions. That’s almost 17% of children buying loot boxes by stealing their parents money. Of course, the responsibility should also be on the parents to safeguard their belongings.
