Comment: Funny cmbination of 2 types of game, FPS and Tower defense. I like graphic and gameplay, it is not that hard, and not that easy. My rate 8/10.

Comment: Sanctum is a combination from first person shooter and a tower defense game with a great graphic and game play. We all know how cool the tower defence games are, we dont need to talk much about it. I rate this game with a note 8/10!

Comment: This game can be really additictive even though it might be boring at some rare points.

In Sanctum, you play as Skye, an elite soldier who have to protect his home Elysion One from an attacking horde of alien insect creatures. Her mission is simple, but far from easy. Protect Elysion One from the attacking creatures.

Before you tried the game, Sanctum can seem like a fairly obscure genre crossing. I would even call it brave. The advantage of the first-person perspective is that you, the player becomes much more involved in the action when you are in the middle of it, instead of like in other tower defense games look at the battlefield from above, like you are some kind of god.

You build up your defenses, buy weapons, upgrade weapons, sell weapons, buy new and better weapons. The best tactic is probably, as usual, to build a long and labyrinthine path, rigged with everything from towers to machine guns, which the enemy can get lost in. It’s not always that easy though. Sanctum is difficult, even for experienced players. A misplaced tower can be the difference between victory and defeat, and therefore it is important that you are always participating in the battle.

It all works very smoothly thanks to the teleporters that are generously scattered along the paths. The controls are solid and the upgrade system works well with balanced weapons. However, I think that it’s in the first-person perspective that Sanctum got shortcomings. Even though the perspective change is interesting it got no point. The enemies are never attacking you personally, but pushes you aside. Then some of the excitement dissapears.

The game is really cool to look at with its chilly futuristic looks, However, there are only three maps in the entire game. There is also a multiplayer mode to play, but about everyone realizes sooner ot later that it’s better to play alone than to play with someome else.

So, in total, Sanctum got it’s cons that makes the experience of the game to decrease. But it shouldn’t prevent anyone that likes tower-defense games to try this game. It’s a fun game and just as addictive as a really good tower defense game should be.

  2. A nice combination of tower defence and fps. Many options when preparing strategy for each level makes it replayable and challenging. Would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys having to plan ahead, wrong strategy and the level will be over sooner than you’d like.

  3. Sanctum is a well-made FPS TD game, probably a unique combination that just works really nicely. Like you build your tower and defenses, and when you begin your wave, you move around and shoot enemies like an FPS game while your towers and defenses assists you. I find it a lot nicer than other TD games where there’s not a whole lot to do during wave rounds. The enemies in this game are unique, with different speeds, HPs, abilities (like flying), etc. The graphics is quite impressive, but that’s expected considering the game uses Unreal Engine 3. Overall, I’d rate this game a 4.5/5.
