The game is based on Europe's exploration and conquest of America.  This classic European theme is especially evident by the clothes and weapons of characters. For example, players look like they stepped out of a Three Musketeers movie and can do serious damage with old muskets and rapiers. The theme is not the only thing different about Sword of the New World because the game also offers a few great innovations to the genre that should have been done by now. First, players have their very own families made up of all their characters. This seemingly simple and fun feature allows all the characters of a player to share the same last name. Besides just adding to the fun factor, families are also important due to family vs. family duels and another great feature known as Multiple Character Control. Instead of controlling one character and/or various forms of pets, Sword of the New World allows players to control up to three full characters at the same time! This is the feature that will make or break or the game. If it is successful, other MMOs better take notice. All in All, the free MMORPG genre has a new major player. Sword of the New World won't have quite the impact on the genre as Rappelz has had due to restrictions for free play, but Sword is one of the most innovative MMOs today.  Key Features Level cap of 20 for free players. Amazing 3D graphics. Every player has his or her own family. All the characters of a player are in that family and they all share the same last name.  Players can control up to 3 characters at once. Gear and clothing inspired by Europe's Baroque period. Soloing is a major factor in the game due to the MCC (multiple character control) system. Five character classes: musketeer, scout, fighter, wizard, and elementalist. Different combat stances offer different skills and equipment possibilities. Guns play a significant role. Can use experience cards to level up characters. Family vs. family duels. City vs. City PvP wars. Arena style PvP. The graphics open up a realism not known in any other MMORPG. You get pulled into the game just looking at it. Concept 10/10 - An amazingly revolutionary concept. My favorite parts are the fact that you can play as 3 characters at once and UPCs (Unique Player Characters). With 3 characters out at once you don't have to worry about finding a half-way decent healer, fighter, or whatever you're looking for, just bring in one of your other characters and you're on your way! Finding UPCs is a great feature because you don't have to be like everyone else. You can have your own skills, stances, and look. Gameplay: 10/10 - It may just be me, but this is some of the best gameplay of any MMORPG I've played. You never run out of things to do like leveling your alternate characters or searching for UPCs. Community: 9.5/10 - The community may not be perfect, but then again what community is? The community is, however, friendly and helpful. They share secrets with each other and are there to lend a hand to a new player. You immediately feel welcome when you join the forum or enter the game. Overall Value: 10/10 Author: Clinton Rating: 10 Comment: This game looks uber! It has five classes, great graphics, and one of the only MMORPGs that incorporates guns successfully. I mean you can shoot the enemy, you can hit them with the butt of your rifle, or you can attach a bayonet and stab enemy. You can also dual-wield pistols and fire away fast, but at the cost of accuracy. If that wasn't enough, you can also use rapiers, 2handed swords, staffs, or just your bare freakin fists. The graphics are something like Xbox 360 quality and it has got the coolest concept ever! Seriously! I would love to meet the genius who decided to let us gamers play as 3 characters at once. Plus, it eliminates a lot of level grinding. The best thing about this game is the fighting. Whenever I kill something, I get this warm fuzzy feeling in the pit of my stomach, telling me i am having a great time playing this game. Luckily, you kill stuff a lot! In conclusion, this makes me look back to every other game I have played in my life, stare it straight in the face, and say "You stink!" Review Sword of the New World Pricing Model Sword of the New World is free-to-play, but there are certain restrictions such as no trading and a level cap of 20.
