Myth War Online is a free fantasy MMORPG with 2D cartoon-style graphics that has over 80000 total players. The game has a strong community with Guild War tournaments a master and apprentice system that helps newbies player photos player tips player stories and even surveys to help improve the game. Although not 3D the graphics in the game are definitely eye catching and work well with the mythology/fantasy theme. The game has a pet leveling system a little like the pet system in World of Warcraft but Myth War Online offers a much broader variety of pets than the current king of MMOs. The combat system is also worthy to note since it combines real-time and turn-based elements to offer a different way to fight monsters. This system allows players to actively change commands based on how the battle is going.

Comment: It is a great game that allows you to have pets and level them up. Also the different races are somewhat unique because I haven’t seen any games that have borgs as a class and not many that have centaurs. The graphics are great. It is nice to see that somebody put all the time into hand drawing and painting them instead of the usual 3d. You level up pretty quickly especially in a party. The game has such a nice community that it is very easy to find a party.

Not really impressed by the game. For the most part, it feels like any old-school isometric 2D MMO with your typical turn-based combat. Kind of cool that the game has four playable races (human, centaur mage, or borg) and has a pet system, but not much else to get excited about. The game also has a direct sequel called Myth War 2, but I don’t think there’s much difference between this game and that game either. Overall, I’d rate this game a 3.2/5.
